Suntan ® offers a comprehensive range of thick film chip resistors engineered for high-performance, surface-mount applications. Our Resistor product line includes solutions for high current (TSHC Series), high voltage (TSHQ Series), and high power (TSHP Series) environments. These resistors are designed with enhanced thermal resistance, excellent moisture tolerance, and compact footprints ideal for space-constrained PCB layouts. Applications span across automotive systems, power management modules, LED drivers, communication devices, and industrial control. With wide resistance values, stable TCR characteristics, and AEC-Q200 compliance on select models, Suntan® resistors deliver both performance and long-term reliability.
Suntan provides a comprehensive lineup of high reliability SMD chip resistors, including Thick Film (TSHC), Precision Thin Film (TSHP), and Surge-Protected (TSHQ) series. These components are designed for stable performance in a variety of applications, offering excellent resistance tolerance, high thermal stability, and dependable electrical characteristics.
TSHC series uses thick film technology on a ceramic substrate, ideal for general purpose usage with wide resistance range and strong moisture resistance. TSHP series features thin film construction for higher precision and lower TCR, suitable for precision circuits in instrumentation and communication. TSHQ series offers enhanced surge protection with specially coated structure, recommended for power devices and automotive electronics.
Our chip resistors come in standard EIA sizes including 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206. Operating temperature range is -55℃ to +155℃. They support resistance values from 1Ω up to 10MΩ (varies by model), and are fully RoHS compliant.
These resistors deliver excellent load life stability and are available in ±0.1%, ±0.25%, ±0.5%, ±1%, and ±5% tolerance options. Flame retardant coating ensures long-term safety and performance in critical applications.
Suntan’s SMD chip resistors are widely used in consumer electronics, automotive control units, industrial automation, medical devices, and network communication modules. TSHC is ideal for cost-effective general use, TSHP ensures high-accuracy signal control, and TSHQ supports circuits with higher inrush current or surge events.
Key features include excellent solderability, high moisture resistance, flame-proof design, low temperature coefficient (as low as ±25ppm/℃), and stable performance under harsh conditions. They support both automatic placement and reflow soldering processes.
A chip resistor is a surface mount device (SMD) used to limit or control electric current flow in a circuit. Constructed on ceramic substrates, these resistors offer different film technologies—such as thick film or thin film—to meet specific application needs. Thick film resistors are known for durability and lower cost, while thin film resistors provide precision and stability. Surge-resistant resistors are built to handle transient spikes, making them essential for protecting sensitive electronics.
Important parameters include resistance value, tolerance, temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR), rated power, and operating temperature. Selection depends on required precision, environmental stress, and available PCB space.
Suntan’s resistor lineup ensures that engineers can find the right solution for performance-critical and cost-sensitive designs alike.
